Since 2003, GeoPlace LLP, previously Intelligent Addressing, have repeatedly enlisted the services of Burnthebook to design and print a variety of marketing collateral for the annual Exemplar Awards
GeoPlace LLP, jointly owned by the Local Government Association (LGA) and Ordnance Survey, are world class experts in address and street information management. Each year their Exemplar Awards highlight and recognise the outstanding work of custodians. They commend high standards of street and address data to promote the use of consistent and recent data within projects. Since 2003, we have produced the marketing collateral for this event, from exhibition stands to the awards themselves. The most important part of this project is to maintain the strong and consistent branding that has helped the Exemplar Awards become a highly recognised accreditation for any custodian.
Visual Brand Identity
The core of our strategy for the Exemplar Awards is consistency. Since 2003, we have tailored the Exemplar Awards marketing collateral to their evolving brand, from Intelligent Addressing to GeoPlace. Yet, from year to year, we still ensure that the brand remains a recognisable accreditation. The marketing materials always need to be consistent, clear and engaging to promote not only GeoPlace, but their sponsors and the award receivers, and to inspire anyone within their industry. Our understanding of the importance of this inspiration, to make the Exemplar Awards such a desirable asset to custodians, is why we have been involved in the project for so long.

Each year there are a variety of marketing materials to design, including the award certificates, agendas, floorplans, exhibition stands and brochures. All of the design is visually engaging and clearly laid out. For floorplans or agendas even something as simple as colour coding has allowed us to simplify complex information for multiple sessions and streams of people. For the brochure we create a clear layout of individual case studies interspersed with appropriate imagery and beautiful photography from the streets and towns of the UK. Most important is the award certificate itself; it needs to be something to make awardees proud to receive and display.
We coordinate the high quality printing of multiple types of marketing collateral, from certificates and brochures to exhibition stands. All of our print methods are environmentally sustainable, using a combination of digital and litho printing on environmentally friendly Forest Stewardship Council® certified uncoated stock and also using vegetable based inks. We manage the entire process, from sending proofs to print to the delivery of the final products to GeoPlace. Without fail, we have always supplied GeoPlace with high quality products within the deadline for the event.
