Camp America requested the help of our services for a complete redesign of their existing marketing website, and the addition of a brand new ecommerce shop to market their new range of CA apparel.
Camp America have been recruiting international staff for US summer camps since 1969 and are a longstanding client of Burnthebook, working with us since 2006. As they primarily target a demographic of 18-25 year olds, a refresh of the marketing website was essential. Our main concern was to establish a new fully responsive mobile friendly website, including the online forum, improve usability from an end user perspective, and maintain a fun and exciting aesthetic with completely updated technology.

By first identifying goals and objectives, we ensure a creative but structured approach from the beginning, meticulously planning and wire-framing each section of the website. For Camp America, end user flow diagrams helped ensure the UI/UX worked for totally seamless end user experience. The site had completely new architecture and a simplified navigation to deal with the large and complex structure of pages within the main marketing website and My Camp America, the online account for applicants. Combined with a single sign on process for applicants, the finished website was simple and easy to use.
While the entire website needed a total design update, in keeping with the new branding, it was crucial that we retained their fun and exciting aesthetic, and applied it to the new ecommerce shop. All of the design was done with deep consideration of the demographic and target market, and for this reason the design of the mobile website was just as important, if not more important, than the main marketing site.
The completely updated technology centers around the new content management system for straightforward management and easy updates. The single sign on system flawlessly joins the main marketing site with the My Camp America site, and the bespoke cost calculator is a fantastic asset for Camp America; end users can now effortlessly break down and calculate their final costs, a previous issue for applicants. Our ecommerce platform Purveya supports the new ecommerce shop and was seamlessly integrated with the new marketing site. Finally, the new SEO capabilities of the website allow Camp America to continue expanding by ensuring the increased attraction of new candidates.
