Derbyshire Mortgage Services, an established and respected mortgage advisory company, asked us to design and build a responsive website, mortgage and stamp duty calculators and a customer relationship web application that accurately reflected their brand values. They wanted business growth and help with marketing to raise brand profile and generate new business enquiries both locally and nationally.

The website, modules and application had to:

Strategy and UX

Derbyshire Mortgage Services had very clear requirements for a new website, web application and help with marketing. They wanted to achieve business growth locally and nationally, portray a friendly family run business and emphasise their values in easing the process of moving home, charging no-fees and providing a personal service. After planning, scoping and signing-off the requirements with the client, a workable wireframe was created to demonstrate what the customer experience would be like on the website. The main criteria was that it had to be simple to use and with bold colours forming the colour pallet. It had to be logical with comfortable navigation for customers, allowing them to easily access mortgage information and applications without being frustrated by the process.

Design

The responsive website and web applications were designed in-line with the brand to appeal to potential homeowners from different demographics, which meant using impactful, professional and consistent colours and fonts throughout to allow customers to easily engage with information and begin to develop a relationship with the brand through familiarity. The imagery used on the homepage had to be friendly but also professional. The website is fully responsive, including the calculators, taking into account the rising trend of Users preferring mobile devices as the primary viewing option.

Technology

We consistently use fully responsive technology across all of the websites we build in order to provide the best User experiences. We also like to ensure that clients can fully manage their own website updates in-house through a powerful, but easy to use CMS (content management system) to help reduce external management costs. Our websites are also developed to integrate SEO capabilities in order to help the client achieve maximum business growth.

Two bespoke modules and a contact database were  built and integrated into the website:

Mortgage and stamp duty calculators that allows customers to gauge how much money they can borrow and the tax implications on purchases.

secure customer contact database was developed as a web application to enhance in-house productivity and management of processes.  Targeting customers was made simple, thereby increasing effectiveness in managing customer relationships and satisfy the client’s need to provide a personalised service.

Outcomes

All goals and objectives set at the planning stage were delivered successfully. Since the launch of the new website, the client has reported that there has been an increase in the number of customer enquiries for not only their mortgage advisory services, but also insurance and protection cover services too. In-house efficiency has increased as the new customer database web application boosted productivity and streamlined the process of storing and managing customer information. The main requirement of achieving business growth has been attained relatively quickly and will continue to grow as on-going marketing is established.
